1. Kuori ja pese perunat. Jos perunat ovat suurikokoisia, leikkaa ne sopivan kokoisiksi paloiksi. Lämmitä kattilassa voita ja timjaminoksia.
2. Kun voi on sulanut ja saanut hieman kultaisenruskean sävyn, lisää perunat kattilaan. Paista niitä kääntelemällä, kunnes ne ovat tasaisesti kullanruskeita joka puolelta.
3. Lisää mausteet ja kaada kasvislientä joukkoon hitaasti, kunnes perunat ovat peittyneet. Anna kypsyä hiljalleen, kunnes perunat ovat täysin kypsiä.
4. Kuori ja hienonna sipuli sekä valkosipulinkynsi. Kuullota sipulit rasvassa pannulla ja lisää nyhtökaura.
5. Lisää pannulle kokonaiset yrtit, savuaromi ja neste. Hauduta seosta miedolla lämmöllä, mutta älä yli kymmentä minuuttia, jotta nyhtökaura ei muutu sitkeäksi. Mausta suolalla ja pippurilla.
