2 valkosipulinkynttä
1 pieni bataatti
öljyä paistamiseen
1 makea, punainen chili
2 cm pala inkivääriä raastettuna
1 tl kuivattua korianteria
1 tl juustokuminaa
1 tl kurkumaa
3 dl basmatiriisiä
2 dl huuhdeltuja punaisia linssejä
1,5 dl vettä
2 kypsää veriappelsiiniä
kourallinen kirveliä
1. Kuori ja pilko sipulit sekä bataatti pieniksi kuutioiksi. Kuullota sipulit kuumalla pannulla öljyssä, kunnes ne pehmenevät. Hienonna punainen chili ja inkivääri, ja lisää ne pannulle. Mausta ja paista miedolla lämmöllä vielä muutama minuutti.
2. Jos pannu tuntuu kuivalta, lisää hieman öljyä. Mittaa pannulle basmatiriisi ja kuullota, kunnes se muuttuu läpikuultavaksi. Vähennä lämpöä ja lisää pannulle vesi sekä linssit.
3. Anna kypsyä noin 20 minuuttia, kunnes riisi ja linssit ovat täysin kypsiä. Halutessasi voit vuolla joukkoon veriappelsiinin kuorta, jotta ruokaan tulee hieno veriappelsiinin maku.
4. Kuori ja pilko veriappelsiinit pieniksi paloiksi sekä hienonna kirveli. Lisää ne kattilaan kypsennyksen loppuvaiheessa ja mausta suolalla ja pippurilla. Kuumenna hyvin.
